A constructive space for hands-on DJ practice

Intermediate DJing is intended for students who already have a grasp on the basics of DJing (beatmatching, controller functions, blending tracks, etc), but are looking to hone those skills and feel more comfortable making choices on the fly.

Most of the session will be group hands-on practice and discussion. We’ll practice techniques, like one big b2b2b2b2b2b, not covered in the beginner class. Students are encouraged to bring and use tracks of their choice and their voice.

This is a safe and welcoming space for everyone who loves music <3.

Hearthealer is a DJ & producer known for narrative world-building, big emotion, and unruly genre blends. They’ve performed their high energy sets internationally, in venues such as OIL (Shenzhen), RSO (Berlin), System (Shanghai), Final (Taipei), Cakeshop (Seoul), Loopy (Hangzhou), Orbitware (Bali), and more. NEMATOCYST, Hearthealer’s hybrid collaboration with dancer Jas Lin, has toured Asia/Europe, opened the 2024 3HD Festival (Berlin), AN(8)X Fest (Berlin) and Panic Library’s Hong Kong Art Week party. On the ambient side, Hearthealer is known for their unique “storytelling sets,” where they use a midi controller to live-perform an original short story within a DJ set.
